QUESTIONS ASKED, ANSWERED, & MYTHS BUSTED
WHAT IS AN RTM HOME?
RTM means Ready-To-Move. Your home is constructed to your specifications at our site and delivered to your land location. RTM’s, unlike modular homes are constructed in one piece, to the same specification as an on-site custom built home. They are designed to go on a full foundation or crawl space, not onto cement pads.
DO I HAVE TO CHOOSE ONE OF YOUR PLANS?
No. Our plan catalogues were created to provide you with design and plan ideas. We encourage all of our homeowners to bring ideas to us. As a custom builder our goal is to design and build your home. We can work with you to design, create and modify your plan using examples from the internet, a list of ideas and existing plans.
WHAT IS THE WARRANTY COVERAGE?
Jade Homes offers a 1-year service warranty on all of our homes. Several of our product suppliers also provide extended warranties on their products. If your home is moving to Alberta, it will be registered under the Alberta Home Buyer Protection Act. The Alberta New Home Warranty will cover:

Are houses inspected as they are built?
Yes. We are a CSA approved RTM builder and enforce strict quality control in all aspects of our trade. Our Production Manager inspects all homes throughout the building process. Certified individuals from Calgary, routinely inspect our homes at different stages of the building process.
Will the walls crack during the move?
Yes, the walls will experience minor cracking during the move. The cracks are cosmetic and do not affect the structural integrity of the home. To ensure a solid and structurally sound home, we glue our OSB sheeting on all exterior walls and install bracing on all exterior doorways and trusses. All cracking is repaired by Jade Homes after our Delivery Inspection is complete.
What happens if the RTM is seriously damaged in the move?
In the unlikely event there is major damage to the home during transportation, the customer is not liable for the damage.
